Do you think Affiliate marketing is the same thing as Network marketing? Well, it all depends on how you see the two marketing points? For me, I think
Network marketing forms the foundation for affiliate marketing and are
basically a way of making money for the affiliates and networkers.
Many people think that affiliate marketing was born after the Internet come
into existence. However, I want to say that if you have been in America and
some parts of the world the following name is already a house hold name to
you; Amway, Herbalife, Forever living products, Mary Kay products, Avon, etc.
These companies have been before the Internet and they market their products on the following principle. People called representatives, or distributors registers with an ID in any of
these companies, sell the products to the end users and make a commission
when an end user completes a transaction.
However, they repeat this process and get as many people as possible to also
buy the products and recruit the customers to do the same. When the customers
replicate their efforts, these companies pay the distributors for this
additional sales funnel.
The fact is the representatives are affiliated with these companies by the
virtue of their IDs. The are not involved in product creation or customer
service issues. All they do is find a buyer for a product and collect the
commissions for each sale.
The same goes with Affiliate marketing. A person sign up as an affiliate to a
product, drive website visitors to the site, when a purchase is made the new
affiliate receives a commission from the product sales.
